What is 'It' and what does it mean to be 'It'? These are the questions Hee-Seung Choi asks in her stage production, It's Just It, as she explores the expression It Girl that first made an impact on the culture of the 1920s. Hollywood actresses such as Clara Bow and later Marilyn Monroe were considered to be It Girls. It has been many decades since then. While the expression is still being used, it seems to have found a new context in the world of social media and abundant reality TV shows where both the famous and the unknown seek your approval and want to be 'liked.' The performance makes a reference to a silent film "It" (1927).
