Do Undo concerns the notion of habituation and its implications for our attitude over time—becoming desensitized not only to bad things but also to good things while experiencing recurring social and emotional patterns that surround us. It derives from the artist’s own desire to undo/overcome habituation. In this mixed-media installation consisting of wooden structures, multiple electric motors and lights are used to explore the relationship between movement and sound while echoing the repetitions observed in daily life. The strings, going up and down at different speeds with coincided stillness, and their shadows draw attention to those moments of different dynamics and nuances that might otherwise go unnoticed.
